Meet Our Practitioners
Sharon became a Registered Nurse 1992 and qualified as a Child Health Nurse in 1996. In 1998 Sharon gained her Masters of Nursing after completing a thesis on the diagnosis of ADHD. She has practiced in a range of Child Health and Mental Health settings, including community and residential in Australia and as a Health Visitor in the UK.
In 2010 Sharon passed the International Board of Lactation Consultants Exam and has a passion for providing evidence based advice and support to Breastfeeding mums pre and post birth. Sharon is also a qualified Childbirth Educator.
Sharon loves working with families, supporting them to improve their health, both physically and emotionally. Sharon became involved in Embrace Life North Lakes in 2008 when it became obvious that parents were in need of support and information about caring for their children.
Sharon has a wealth of Child Health experience and information to enable parents to make informed choices about the care of their children. Her experience also includes having two gorgeous young sons of her own.

Lina Chiha is a Macquarie University graduate of Chiropractic, having obtained both a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and a Masters of Chiropractic. In the past 5 years Lina has worked in busy practices in both Sydney and Brisbane. Her main focus is wellness care.
When Lina was a young girl her mother needed spinal surgery and experienced so much pain before the surgery. Lina wished to help her and decided Chiropractic was her career calling. She can now help other people in similar situations and possibly prevent surgery by facilitating natural healing instead.
Lina believes that the body has an inbuilt ability to be well but sometimes needs a little assistance in achieving health. She sees her role, as a chiropractor, as an important one that aims to remove interferences to the body's nervous system. In doing so, the body can perform to its most superior level and maintain optimal health.
Lina has undergone study in many techniques and attended numerous seminars in support of her love to care for children and their families. Some of these techniques include ABC (Advance Bio-structural Correction), SOT (Sacro Occipital Technique) and AK (Applied Kinesiology). With these tools at hand, Lina cares for the whole family including children, athletes and the elderly.

Sal Saleh is an RMIT University graduate of Chiropractic, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Complementary Medicine degree and a Masters of Chiropractic. Sal’s major focus is wellness care of his patients, and a special interest in neurology and sport related cases.
Sal believes that the human body is complex and incredible in that the body possesses an innate ability to heal itself. Sal’s role as a chiropractor aims to get people well and keep them well to enjoy life in optimal health. Sal’s passion is to help people and provide the best possible care for his patients.

Hui Xu - Acupuncturist

Hui Xu obtained her MD in Medicine, Peking University and completed her Clinical Medicine training that specialized inRespiratory Medicine practice from a prestigious Medical University Hospital in Beijing, China. She further pursued and received PhD in Allergy and Immunology from National University of Singapore before her family moved to Brisbane.
Hui also has strong interests in Acupuncture. She holds Advanced Diploma of Acupuncture from the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences which entitles her to practise Acupuncture in Australia. Her dream is to contribute her knowledge and expertise in both Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine to the community.
Hui is a member of ANTA (Australian Natural Therapists Association). Her customers may claim Health fund rebate for Acupuncture treatment.

Mikaela Duffy - Naturopath
Mikaela is a fully qualified Naturopath, Nutritionist and Birth Doula. Her long career in community care work, along with her own personal health journey has created a particular passion for health through holistic living. After training and working in energy medicine in the UK in the late 90's, Mikaela chose to move to Australia in 2003 to study Natural Medicine and Nutrition at the world renowned ACNM. During her time working in clinical practice there, she developed a particular love for women and children's health, and providing group talks to teach people about the importance of complementary health and whole food nutrition. Mikaela's aim is to provide others with the support and tools to increase self-awareness, which in turn leads to personal power to make informed healthy decisions for themselves and their families.
Her focus as a holistic therapist is to create individual treatments & workshops that focus on relevant aspects of your physical and emotional health, with consideration of personal interests and lifestyle.
For anyone who is feeling less than their best, treatments focus on restoring and maintaining the body’s innate healing potential through the use of natural substances and energetic work.

At the tender age of 39, Gayle felt a need for a change in her career. With a long interest in natural therapies,Gayle really became interested in reflexology because it can help with easing the pain of so many ailments and be very relaxing at the same time.
Gayle loves working with babies, children, and pregnant women, and has vast experience working with carers of disabled children.
Gayle is a member of the Reflexology Association of Australia, and the International Institute of Complementary Therapies.

The catalyst for Sue to start her business Growing Content was seeing the pain friends and family were going through with unexplained infertility and the IVF emotional rollercoaster. She developed the Conception Coaching program to identify and clear the unconscious fears and blocks to conceiving.
Her work has since expanded to helping pregnant couples prepare mentally and emotionally for a positive birth and parenting, to a wide range of issues including anxiety, self esteem, weight and ongoing pain, relationship issues and coping with transition periods in life.
Sue firmly believes in holistic well-being. She has developed and runs De-Stress For Success workshops and retreats, in-house training programs, is in demand as a guest speaker, and writes regularly for a number of online magazines and forums. Somewhere in all of that Sue makes time to de-stress with bush & beach walks, travel with her partner Peter, and chocolate.
