How can reflexology help your body fight colds and flu?

on Sunday, 24 April 2011.

Colds are the body’s way of ridding itself of viruses, bacteria and toxins. Our Respiratory system is the first line of defense in fighting colds and flu. If we have a strong respiratory system the time spent fighting colds and flu’s is lessened.

Reflexology can help to hasten this process by strengthening your respiratory and immune systems. A general reflexology treatment can aid a sore throat and runny nose and relieve any malaise and other physical discomfort. In addition, the more problematic areas will be worked on to assist in the elimination of excess mucous and thus toxins. Your sinuses will begin to clear, getting rid of that “heavy head” feeling.

You may sometimes feel the cold is worse after a treatment but this means the toxins are being shifted and your general feeling of wellness starts to return sooner rather than later.

Having reflexology treatments will also help you to relax and sleep, and this is when the healing really happens

Good nutrition and keeping up your fluid intake is also very important in fighting colds and flu.
