Cross fibre mobilisation
What can cross fibre mobilisation help with?
Cross fibre muscle mobilisation technique can give rapid and long‐lasting relief from a wide spectrum of conditions, including:
• ankle, foot and gait problems
• ME/CFS, fibromyalgia
• frozen shoulder
• knee problems
• headaches
• TMJ syndrome
• RSI and more
What is fibre mobilisation?
Fibre mobilisation is a gentle remedial body technique. It is a soft tissue therapy. A firm yet gentle move across the muscle fibres helps to break down neuromuscular adhesions. These NMA’s feel like small to medium sized hardened areas in the muscles. They can be quite tender to the slightest pressure.
How does it feel?
Fibre mobilisation is a surprisingly relaxing form of therapy. Using small gentle moves and light cross‐fibre maneuvers of a muscle, tendon or ligaments. No oil or cream is used during treatment and can be done through light clothing.
Who can have it?
This therapy can generally be used safely on anyone, from babies to the elderly. As a modality it can be used on its own, but may be used in conjunction with many of the healing professions, with the exception of body massage, as it negates fibre treatment. It works particularly well when combined with reflexology.
