What happens in a consultation?
Consults can take place in home, in hospital or at our beautiful Embrace life centre. The initial consult is one‐hour in length and involves:
• taking a history of the family
• weighing the baby as needed
• observing a feed if necessary
At the end of each consult..
…a plan suited to you and your baby/family will be discussed. Education and support are key factors in each consult. We want parents to feel relaxed and confident in their abilities to care for their family. A follow up appointment may be necessary depending on the issues raised.

What other Families say about Sharon's services:
"From the very first time I attended an appointment with Sharon I could not believe the changes in both Jonathan and myself. Breast feeding became something I enjoyed and looked forward to, sleep became a regular occurrence and with the amazing support and guidance of Sharon through these tough times these issues were quickly overcome. My son is now 2 and I don't think I could have made it this far without having help (and well-needed hugs) from such a beautiful person. Thank you again for all you have done for us!" Jessica and Jonathon
"We first met Sharon when Jack was 12 days old. I had been breastfeeding him with the aid of a nipple shield which was recommended by the midwives at the hospital where I birthed him. Although I was still technically breast feeding my son I felt overwhelmed and frustrated at the thought of needing this nipple shield for the rest of my breast feeding journey. Thank Goodness for Sharon and the team at Embrace Life! I sat down with Sharon and she wrote up a plan for Jack and I. Jack is now 7 months old. He is healthy and happy and very content. He sleeps through the night and is still breast fed. I feel an overwhelming sense of pride and achievement as a mother and I truly believe if it were not for the Embrace life team I would have had a different journey. I will be forever grateful." Nicole B.
"I came to see Sharon as I was having trouble with breastfeeding my beautiful girl Bonnie when she was only 10 days old. Bonnie is our first baby and we were more than overwhelmed and confused with all the information that the midwives at the hospital had given us. When we arrived at Embrace Life to see Sharon I was so anxious and scared that I was doing something wrong and that Bonnie wasn't getting enough food (not to mention the pain I was in). I felt like a failure as a mum because I couldn't even feed my own child. Sharon was amazing. She calmed me down, explained things to me in a way that was so simple and easy to understand. She made me realise that all I needed to trust my instincts as a mother and I can't go wrong. When Bonnie was 8 weeks old, she was diagnosed with a dairy allergy. This was several weeks of worry and pain for Bonnie. I was having trouble finding information that would help me with my dairy free diet. Sharon was a wealth of knowledge for me and if she didn't know, she found out! Words can never express how appreciative our family is to have met Sharon and everyone at Embrace Life. I have recommended many people to Embrace Life and will continue to do so in the future." Danielle B.
